What made you decide you wanted to be a dentist? When I was little, I was incredibly embarrassed by my overcrowded and consequently crooked smile. At about age 15, I began orthodontic treatment, and with my transformed smile also came a boost of confidence. I knew from then on that I wanted to pursue dentistry so that I too could help restore people’s health and confidence.
Hobbies: Hiking, travel, concerts, coffee shops
Favorite place to eat in SLC: I’ve only tried a few places, but I’ve found myself pretty obsessed with Even Stevens. Delicious sandwiches with a good cause AND free coffee for students, what’s not to love?!
What is your favorite ASDA event? Being a D1, I haven’t attended many events yet. But, I really enjoyed volunteering at the “Back to School Brush Up.” It felt great to be able to help hundreds of kids with their oral health! I’m really looking forward to the National Leadership Conference in Chicago this year as well as my first Porcelain Ball!
Where can you find me outside of school? Most likely watching Netflix, singing in my car, at a coffee shop, or spending time outside of class with my lifelong colleagues!
Interesting fact about me: I have a fraternal twin sister! I also was in band and played the flute from fifth grade all the way through high school.
What do you see yourself doing in five years? I’m keeping my options pretty open right now, but I could see myself practicing as a general dentist back home in Washington or another cool city!
What Pandora station do you have on while drilling and filling in sim lab? Really depends on what kind of mood I’m in. Probably Ed Sheeran, 90’s throwbacks, Disney, or Galantis.
What is one of your favorite inspirational quotes? “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop” -- Confucius
