Favorite place to eat in SLC? To be honest SLC as a whole doesn’t have fresh chef inspired food. On Sundays my friends and I go out to brunch to try different restaurants. We once stumbled on Copper Kitchen—their Shrimp and Grits are delicious! I’m a total foodie and I love finding new yummy delicious restaurants and re-creating the recipes in my own kitchen.

What made you decide you wanted to be a dentist? Interviewers love asking this question. My decision wasn’t an “it” moment, it was a journey. I initially wanted to be a lawyer or counselor. In High School, I became a certified dental assistant and received my dental radiology license at 16 years old. That allowed to work as a Dental Assistant. One of my employers, a female dentist, soon became my employer. I really looked up to her as an independent successful female business owner—in no time she became my role model. I’ve taken on many leadership positions that reinforced my desire to continue in the field of dentistry. I served as the Dental Supplies Chair for Global Dental Brigades with this organization I took a trip to Honduras to assist dentists in providing complimentary dental services and preventative education to villages that would otherwise not have access to dental care. I was responsible for collecting supplies for over 2000 patients a year, and was ultimately successful in doing so. I later completed an internship with AIDS Services Foundation, where I realized treating all people equally regardless of their medical condition or status quo was something I wanted to implement in my office.

What is your favorite ASDA event? Porcelain Ball—I love dressing up!

Interesting fact about me: I’m an only child and love it!

What do you see yourself doing in five years? Owning my own practice in Los Angeles. Living in a skyscraper with my Bengal kitten.

Where can you find me outside of school? The gym, more like the kitchen lol

What Pandora station do you listen to when you have patient? Love Songs is awesome. I asked a D4 doing a restoration to play this station when I was asked a preference. At the end of the appointment both my primary and secondary provider where humming the lyrics.

What is the most interesting thing you did since you moved to Utah? All the hikes I’ve done—Zion Narrows, Delicate Arch in Moab, Salt Flats were very memorable! I also enjoy going to Wheeler’s Farmer’s Market on some Sundays.
